"Steve has worked all of the functions for the Johnson County Friends of NRA committee, including four county fairs and the Johnson County Peach Festival. He has put in countless hours to make this year's banquet a success.

Steve, a retired Army officer, has all the qualities you would expect in a fine leader. He leads by example and treats others as equals. Steve makes sure the committee members are kept in the know about what changes are being made, and asks for everyone's opinion before making a decision. His devotion has kept this chapter one of the highest producing in the state. Even during the pandemic, his fine leadership greatly enhanced the organization and gave it life while many things were waning.

Steve goes above and beyond for Johnson County Friends of NRA. Last year, he reached out to other committees and received permission to attend their county fairs to promote the banquet and sell raffle tickets. This made 2021 a great year for the the Johnson County Friends of NRA, and hopefully a success for the shooting sports for Arkansas in the coming year. In addition, Steve has a saw mill and donated a pavilion to be built on-site for the winner of the pre-event raffle."
