The Logan County Friends of NRA kicked the year off right, hosting the first Friends of NRA banquet of the year for the state of Illinois. Ninety people attended the banquet in Lincoln, Ill. and the Logan County committee doubled their net proceeds from last year. Big seller of the night was the Gun of the Year, the Ruger Matched Set, which sold for $1,500. The surprise sell of the night was the "Flushing Roosters" exclusive NRA print by Cole Johnson which brought in $330. "The committee did very well," said Southern IL Field Representative Wayne Steele, "Everyone really enjoyed the event."
